Performance Evidence

Evidence of the ability to:

select sites for artwork or installation that are responsive to key ideas in the work

research location, dimensions, characteristics, constraints and requirements of each potential site within required timeframe

establish criteria that appropriately address and respond to the site requirements, and use them to select most appropriate site

develop plans for installing the work that reflect best response to creative ideas and site characteristics and requirements

document procedures and work plans for installing the work on site using varied formats and according to required procedures.

Note: If a specific volume or frequency is not stated, then evidence must be provided at least once.


Knowledge Evidence

To complete the unit requirements safely and effectively, the individual must:

describe potential of sites for different types of work relevant to area of specialisation

describe types and potential sources of site information needed for planning work

identify the site characteristics considered when evaluating and selecting a site, and describe the process used to determine their impact

discuss perspectives and requirements of key others involved in or affected by the work

explain in detail the criteria used in site selection and work plan, including consistency with conceptual vision, regulatory requirements, approval requirements and processes

detail the technology and procedures used to access and store information sourced and to document the selection and planning process

outline work health and safety requirements associated with different types of sites.
